Un Lugar de la Mancha Description:
One of several high-end bookstore-restaurants in high-end districts, Un Lugar de la Mancha is a favorite of hurried executives (especially at breakfast) and local leisure types who like the reasonably-priced (for where you are) fare that's served up with a little more elegance (the patio is lovely) and originality than at VIPS or Sanborns. Menu-wise, think country clubs and department store tea rooms: a wide range of soups (try the chilled avocado) and high-toned sandwiches (teriyaki chicken pita, croissants with a variety of fillings) plus interesting atypical selections like asparagus quiche, salmon spring rolls and a cheese plate that covers all the bases including manchego, panela, Camembert, Brie, Gruyère, goat cheese---and Mennonite artisanal. Those in need of a salad will be especially pleased: there's a traditional spinach, an intriguing chicken and citrus combo and even a trout salad with red cabbage and three vinaigrettes. While its presentation is nothing fancy, the "Princesa Micomicona" salad (most menu items are references to characters in Don Quixote) is a winning combination of crab, lettuce, tomato, avocado and three dressings, and big enough for two.
