Before hitting Beale Street's famous blue clubs, indulge in the food that put Memphis on the map---slow-cooked, tangy barbecue ribs. But you might want to save room for one of Blues City's famous oven-broiled steaks, served au jus with generous sides, a tradition left from the restaurant's earlier incarnation as Doe's Eat Place. Don't worry about downing all those calories. There's plenty of opportunity to dance them off in the restaurant's Band Box, where live music carries on late into the night. Kids are fine here during the day and in the early evening hours, but it's best considered an adult establishment after mid-evening.
