Blue Spoon is a small 28 seat, classic neighborhood restaurant. Chef David Iovino displays creativity in the menu, but the prices are moderate compared to area restaurants of the same quality.
With only ten tables and a small but lively bar scene, this Munjoy Hill restaurant offers farm-to-table fare at down to earth prices. The entire menu is available as a three-course prix-fixe so one can try standard dishes like roast chicken or a pan-fried trout or some very creative vegetarian fare. A mushroom tart has a flaky, almost flatbread-like pastry with a creamy pile of crimini mushrooms followed by scallops with smoky bacon and lemon. A porchetta with herb stuffing is tender and rustic served with a rich polenta cake. For dessert, try the Cuban-influenced flan with the exotic touch of coconut milk.
