Cumberland Brews Description:
The lagers and ales are first-rate and the food matches the beer, bite for sip. You can order spicy Buffalo wings or sweet honey wings, but for a real treat, get the Jamaican jerk wings marinated in lime juice and jerk spices instead. The bison burger is the house signature sandwich, and you can offset its healthful leanness with the addition of cheese and-or bacon. Rather have your bison in a bowl? The kitchen cooks up a fiery bison chili, too. Students at a local culinary school practice in the kitchen, so nightly specials may include surprisingly upscale dishes, such as sautéed seafood or rack of lamb. But prices are gratifyingly those of a pub. A half-dozen house beers are on tap at any given time and range from pale ale to porter to mead. On warm evenings, the beer drinking spills over to tables set on the Bohemian sidewalk of Bardstown Road, adding to the colorful street show, since beer lovers may be accompanied by their dogs or their guitars.
