Cliff's Edge Description:
A two-tiered woodsy patio, with candlelit tables arranged beneath the canopy of a gargantuan ficus tree, makes this venue particularly memorable. Inside, banquettes with throw pillows, modern art, wood and still more candles give the place the feel of a homey hideaway. The food is very respectable, with starters such as polenta cake topped with forest mushrooms and Parmigiano-Reggiano, fritto misto with balsamic-tarragon aïoli, and a wonderful salad of frisée and crispy chicken livers. The entrée selection includes pastas, tasty baby lamb chops, roasted duck with figs and pomegranate gastrique, and steak. A big bowl of fries with Gorgonzola dipping sauce makes a worthy side, and the chocolate pot de crème is the real thing.
