Prominent L.A. chef Andre Guerrero (marché L.A. and Señor Fred in the Valley) is behind this fun, casual concept he calls "slow fast food." Housed in an old burger joint, the renovated A-frame offers red banquettes inside and ample seating on a palm-studded patio. At the counter, you'll be confronted by a menu creating a fundamental dilemma---sandwiches or chicken? The pastrami is nicely seasoned and the burgers solid, but we favor the rotisserie chicken. Although moistness may be an issue, it arrives at your table with a beautiful crisp, golden skin. The Belgian-inspired fries come with various dipping sauces, like roasted garlic aïoli or ancho-lime mayo. For dessert, finish your oinking with a peanut butter and jelly cupcake.
