King's Road Cafe Description:
King's Road Café has good breakfasts---awesome whole wheat pancakes studded with blueberries and chili-poached eggs with Romano cheese. Later in the day, the menu revolves around interesting salads, panini and pastas. A grilled shrimp and scallop salad features creamy avocado vinaigrette and shiitake mushrooms. The top sirloin panini hosts garlic aïoli and caramelized onions. Lobster ravioli gets a luxurious bath of shrimp and Chardonnay-cream sauce. For something heartier, consider the grilled shrimp tacos or Yucatan-style chicken breast with mashed sweet potatoes and jicama relish. To drink, there are textbook cappuccinos and homemade chai, plus fresh-squeezed juices. Finish your meal with a slice of apple crumble pie or peanut butter cookie. If you can't bear to leave Fido home, the outside tables always have a few leashes tied to the legs. These sidewalk tables are always crowded, especially on the weekends.
