La Famiglia Description:
It may be on the expensive side, but La Famiglia manages to retain its local neighborhood feel. Busy and friendly, with small tables, tiled walls and a fairly high noise level, this is the place where wealthy local Chelsea diners go to re-create their Tuscany dreams. The cooking is consistently good, a lesson in classic Italian dishes like salted cod properly marinated in onions and balsamic vinegar, top risottos and veal chop with porcini mushrooms. Desserts, such as profiteroles, are also standouts. Much of the produce is organic. The outdoor terrace dining is quite popular in summer so book ahead. Service is good; the wine list is pricey.
