Nicole's Description:
Nicole Farhi's eponymous restaurant is located in the basement of her flagship Bond Street clothing store. It's great for early breakfasts and at lunchtime, the smart ladies-who-lunch descend the stairs to sample the skillful mix of modern British-meets-Mediterranean cooking. Light starters like tiger prawns with mustard, ginger and lime, cucumber and coriander, and grilled fish or pan-roasted veal dishes fit the bill; even the simple green salads are first-rate. The desserts are tempting, in particular panna cotta with black currant compote, and they tempt the fashionable crowd who've held back on the main dishes. But like the clothes and home accessories upstairs, nothing on the menu is cheap.
