Studio Café Description:
MGM Grand's 24-hour café is more luxurious than most, featuring an Art Deco décor, cherry wood, comfortable banquettes and an eight-seat bar. Eggs Benedict with hash browns and (optional) smoked salmon or crab cakes, blueberry almond buttermilk pancakes, jumbo pecan cinnamon rolls and a country skillet---scrambled eggs with chopped bacon and sausage topped with cheddar cheese and hash browns---are popular breakfast choices. Salad winners include the Asian chicken with sesame-peanut dressing and crispy noodles, and the Greek with grilled chicken and artichoke hearts. Among sandwich favorites are the triple-decker club, burgers and the Monte Cristo. The bruschetta with red and yellow tomatoes, roasted garlic, Boursin cheese and basil is first-rate. Roast prime rib and filet mignon with lobster are signature dishes. We also like the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, roasted garlic and mashed potatoes; New York steak Oscar; and the sesame-crusted salmon with roasted peppers and oregano-butter sauce. Chocolate pecan pie and the warm apple-raisin cobbler come with vanilla bean ice cream. A summer special, a brownie served in its skillet, is accompanied by Häagen-Dazs ice cream and hot fudge.
