Both the décor and cuisine of this modern Mexican restaurant are vibrant and lively. Though most familiar Mexican fare is street food, Diego elevates it to fine dining. Small plates perfect for noshing while sipping tequila include hearty chicken empanadas, fresh guacamole and Barbacoa de Chivo, or slow-braised goat marinated in guajillo chilies. Tacos al carbon are favorites, with meats such as chicken breast marinated in garlic and lime or red chili-rubbed skirt steak, grilled and served rice, red beans, a blend of Mexican cheeses and lime. Don't miss the cochinita pibil, a savory, slow-cooked pork shoulder marinated in ancho and orange. Finish up the meal with sweets such as traditional flan, or the lime curd trifle topped with meringue. Friday and Saturday nights Diego hosts Vida!, a Latin-inspired dance party with bottle service and live DJs.
