Kaldi's Coffeehouse Description:
Kaldi's established itself years ago as an independent coffeehouse with a vegetarian menu and an air of academic casualness. But this satellite location is in a suburban setting, with an atmosphere that seems ready to be duplicated at another half-dozen, similar sites. Needless to say, the menu's no longer vegetarian; meat's been added. Tastes here run sweeter, to cappuccinos and crêpes and the local delicacy, gooey butter cake. In warm weather, capacity in the already-large dining area is doubled with outside tables. The coffee's micro-roasted, the sandwiches and soups satisfying, the bottled microbrew menu short but sweet. Yes, in another deviation from the original, this Kaldi's serves both beer and wine.
