Houston's Description:
Houston's is a traditional dining spot in a suburban Irvine shopping center. Inside, the vibe is casual, yet still a bit romantic with its warm woods, rectangular leather banquettes, dim lighting and overall modern rustic ambience. The menu is rather short, but it incorporates American steakhouse classics such as Caesar salad, burgers, a French dip sandwich and lots of juicy steaks, of course. The "traditional" salad is a good place to start, and consists of mixed greens, house-made croutons, chopped egg, smoked bacon and a choice of four dressings like buttermilk garlic or honey mustard. A handful of sushi rolls are offered, as well as a spicy tuna roll salad, sashimi tuna salad and a seared tuna steak. However, most come to Houston's for the tender and flavorful steaks such as the Hawaiian rib-eye, which is marinated for hours and grilled over hardwood. The wine list offers good selections mostly from California's Sonoma and Napa Valleys.
