With booth seating along one wall of this hip, urban bistro in The Village, you can literally rub elbows with the beautiful people who flock here (or perhaps you're one of them!) Most seating, however, allows more room, as well as a great view of the industrial chic design. The back of the smallish, but airy, room is flanked by an open kitchen window on one side and a massive bar, complete with beatnik bartender shaking martinis, on the other. It's an extra bonus that the food, inspired by international flavors, is also cutting-edge. Owner Benjy Levit has made it his mission to create heart-healthy dishes without sacrificing innovative culinary technique. The result: some of the most guilt-free noshing to be found in Houston. Consider the seared tuna wrap, the wild mushroom enchiladas or the Asian salad with sesame-peanut sauce. You may even stumble onto the vegetarian sushi special---a hit at Benjy's catered events. Many will naturally gravitate toward the menu's decidedly decadent items, tended to with the same care as the healthier alternatives. A favorite is the pistachio-crusted chicken with a melted onion-potato gratin in a sage sauce. Others swear by the corn-crusted Chilean sea bass in a lobster-tarragon sauce. Desserts rarely disappoint, with healthier fruit options if you're watching your waistline and appropriately sinful ones if you're going for the gusto.
