Fonda la Paloma Description:
Many years ago when this local standby opened it was a fun, casual place to get decent Mexican food, be serenaded by a roving duo of mariachis, and in general, have a good night out, in spite of the uncomfortable, straight-back chairs. Suffice it to say that it's still a casual place, the food is still decent, the chairs are still uncomfortable, and the musicians continue to perform on weekends. Over the decades, the restaurant has become known for its fajitas served on sizzling platters---try the flank steak version, a more tender cut than the usual skirt steak, or the shrimp fajitas sautéed with onions and peppers and served on soft tortillas with rice and beans.
