After a devastating fire New Year's Eve 2008, Cheeca Lodge closed for a year to rebuild. In early 2010, it reopened with aplomb and updated luxury. Its prime restaurant, Atlantic's Edge, offsets classics (shrimp cocktail, grilled romaine Caesar, filet with peppercorn sauce) with bright, Island-infused specialties, like local baby greens with honey-tangerine dressing, apricot-glazed mahi with coconut curry sauce, and rib-eye with Serrano salsa. Desserts are their own area of expertise, with standouts like roasted banana crème brûlée and Georgia peanut panna cotta. There is a reason why presidents, celebrities, and models return to this hideaway year after year: there's simply no place else like it.
