Bangkok One's menu features lots of favorite traditional thai dishes like pad thai, drunken noodles, or panang on the regular menu and a specialty menu that changes every month or so.
This downtown eatery has the same sleek look as the trendier Thai places around and offers much the same fare: In other words, no surprises here. Small and compact, Bangkok One does well at lunchtime, but due to its location where there are fancy trendsetters as neighbors, it faces stiff competition. Will the menu woo patrons with such standard dishes as pad Thai, vegetable- and chili-garnished drunken noodles and a very sweet panang chicken? Time will tell if this place can meet and beat the competition. To get repeat customers, the owners might be well advised to lengthen the menu and whip up more traditional Thai dishes to pique appetites and curiosity.
