With a menu virtually unchanged since its 1918 opening, the 1883 building that houses The Union Hotel & Restaurant isn't the only historical landmark in De Pere. The old brick hotel sits on a corner in the middle of the downtown area of this Green Bay suburb, and the elite luster of its early twentieth century beginnings is still intact. The bill of fare caters to a Wisconsin resident's hearty appetite---but also to their demand for quality as well; consequently, expect plenty of steaks and chops. There's also fresh seafood, including the sautéed scallops. But for a true taste of yesteryear, indulge in the Union's highly marbled beef. But choose your steak wisely: it is specially cut to order. We like the tenderloin sided by a piping-hot baked potato loaded with butter and sour cream.
