Though people visiting the spa at Pamukkale (see separate paragraph) sometimes end up staying in Denizli, it doesn't really have much to offer. There are some not-particularly-impressive ruins at Laodicea of one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor in the hills near Denizli. 112 mi/180 km southeast of Izmir.
