Chef Rafael Palomino, the restaurateur who brought us Sonora and Pacifico, presents an American eclectic menu worthy of the chef's reputation. The warm and mellow beige tones and living room-style setting in the bar and lounge, along with a softly lit dining area with colorful murals decorating the walls, create an intimate and convivial atmosphere. Begin with the Hawaiian yellowfin tuna and avocado tartare---the creaminess of the avocado blends nicely with the tartare, while the acidity of the vinaigrette sharpens the natural flavors of the yellowfin. The tender braised Angus short ribs with saffron mashed potatoes and mushroom ragoût makes a nice follow-up. You can't go wrong pairing this with a California dry rosé or an Oregon Pinot Noir from Greenwich Tavern's well-represented wine list.
