Yes, the name was deliberately chosen to evoke the famous Spago moniker, and the menu isn't all that unfamiliar, loaded as it is with designer pizzas and pastas. Brunch offers savory items like a three-cheese quiche and croissant french toast. At night, the entrées make an appearance, with a decidedly American comfort food spin---think meatloaf, pork chops, crab cakes---while the storefront space gets noisy as people crowd inside. For a pick-me-up, order an unusual espressotini, freshly brewed double espresso blended with Smirnoff Vanilla Twist vodka and a dash of Kahlúa. The adjacent wine store, Spagio Cellars, offers plenty of worthy bottles if you don't find the right potion on the restaurant's list; you'll have to pay a $15 corkage fee to enjoy it in the restaurant. Alternatively, you may opt for a bottle within the store and make do with lighter fare: wood-fired pizzas, cheese plates and sandwiches.
