Nighttown Description:
This restaurant has a selection of live jazz with the occasional Irish slipping in, music usually starts around 7pm. There is a selection of seafood and traditional pub fare on the menu. Prices range from $12 to $25 for an entree.
Named after the red light district in James Joyce's Ulysses, Nighttown features live music and livelier food seven days a week. Tiffany-style lamps cast flattering light while dark, wood-paneled walls are lined with stained glass panels and collectible clutter. It's just up the hill from University Circle and Little Italy, so you can expect it's a diverse crowd here, and they're eating to an unexpected beat. The food---served in surprisingly hearty portions---is primarily American. Start with the fresh and earthy whole artichoke, followed by the Berkshire pork chops with a rich sweet potato spätzle. For dessert, try the hot fudge sundae---it's made with Cleveland's own Mitchell's vanilla ice cream.
