Since closing Lockkeeper's restaurant and turning it over to the original owners, Dante Boccuzzi has faced several challenges, both personal and professional, in his career. But Dante, located in the former Third Federal Savings & Loan building in Tremont, is quite the comeback. This much more intimate restaurant serves up handcrafted Italian fare, starting with beef tenderloin carpaccio with pickled cauliflower. A good follow-up is the risotto with rhubarb, crisp garlic and orange essence. It's sweet and rich with pitch-perfect flavors. From there, move to the handmade pappardelle with a rich bolognese that sings of beef, veal and pork flavors. For dessert, try the hot, caramelized Bartlett pears with toasted cardamom ice cream.
