Fat Cat Bar & Grill Description:
In the don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover category, there's Fat Cat, an Uptown bar and grill that serves up some flavorful food behind its neighborhood bar facade. We like its updated retro vibe---Art Deco bar, three-tiered light fixtures, plush U-shaped booths---but we enjoy the Cuban pork belly sandwich even more. Cured for 24 hours and then braised, the fork-tender meat is topped with house-made red cabbage slaw, Swiss cheese and pickles and served on ciabatta. We choose to up the artery-clogging factor by dipping the crisp fries in accompanying aïoli sauce (it's worth it). Have a taste for sloppy Joes? Fat Cat has your back. Wash it down with one of the Belgian beers on tap---or really fall off the wagon and get the Godiva chocolate martini topped with peanut-butter foam.
