Ah! Mes Amis, did you ever think escargots would find its way to Chicago's Little Italy? Yes, the noise level may soar on busy nights, but the food is so good, we are cutting major slack on that score. We recommend the brandade de morue, and here the balance between cod and potato is just right. We also like the finely tuned leek tart. As for the steak frites, you can choose from a few options. We go for the classic---the grilled sirloin dabbed with a round of garlic butter with crispy frites. Dessert choices are simple, as in a tangy lemon tart or clafouti-style blueberry tart. Service is on the money is every respect. A tip: The garden is built for romance, especially at lunchtime when it's quiet.
