Al's #1 Italian Beef Description:
If you want to capture the essence of things Chicago-style, look no further than Al's. This beef stand is a bastion of Chicago's Little Italy (and beyond, since there are many offshoots). As is par for the course, the meat is roasted on site and sliced super thin, its flavor peculiarly sweet. Then, it's heaped onto soft bread. Even though it's not our first choice for beef, we'll admit Al's has great fries. Italian sausages, seen sizzling on the grill, are awfully tempting, too.
