The McNinch House Description:
This unusual approach to special occasion dining requires advance reservations. Ensconced since 1988 in a restored Victorian cottage, McNinch House serves a six-course meal with wine paired to each course and intricate attention to detail right down to the chilled salad fork. Seatings begin at 6:30 p.m., and continue on the half hour. Each week, patrons with the required reservations receive a list of six to eight main dishes from which to choose, with lamb, beef and seafood options, while chef-owner Ellen Davis chooses the remaining courses. Choose from four levels: Grand (seven courses), Premier (five courses), Bistro (four courses) and the Chef's Table, a special treat of ten to 12 Chef's Choice courses. (Arrangements must be made in advance for the Chef's Table.) Service is paced to allow patrons to enjoy each course---no hurries here. The restaurant offers full, although basic, bar service---no funny names, goofy flavors or paper umbrellas.
