Bonterra Dining & Wine Room Description:
When Bonterra moved into its historic building, a century-plus old church in the Dilworth neighborhood, the owners preserved the most elegant aspects of the church while making it into a contemporary dining space. That Bonterra has one of the top wine programs in the city has only helped make this a destination dining spot for the city's fine diners. The menu features house-made pâtés, an extensive cheese list to match with wines by the glass, and dishes that seem worldly while retaining Southern touches at times (Niman Ranch pork chop with braised collard greens and cider brown butter). Other dishes include the signature fried lobster tail, a cowboy rib-eye and Arctic char. Pastry chef Celeste Rackly makes the desserts in-house, and her varying cheesecake selections, crème brûlée and chocolate molten cake seem hard to resist.
