Parking:

During events,traffic around the Center may be restricted. During wekday events,Skipper Bowles Drive will be closed to through traffic starting at 6pm. Onsite parking may be limited,especially during events (during basketball games,all lots around the Center are reserved).
Parking Fees: $5 per car,$10 per limo/small RVs,$20 for buses/large RVs,$25 for charters (there is an additional fee for charters and buses;call the Center for arrangements).
Handicapped parking is available on a first come,first served basis in the lot across the street from the Center. Cart transportation is available from the lot to the Center before events,and after events once the lots are vacated.

For *select* events,Tar Heel Express shuttles run beginning 1.5 hours prior to the start of the event. One-way fare is $2,round trip is $3. (Return trips begin immediately after the event and continue for one hour). Buses operate from 2 or more of the following lots (call (252) 968-2769 for the specific lot for an event):
*Route 54 West-Carrboro Plaza Shopping Center
*Route 54 East-Park and Ride Lot adjacent to Firday Continuinf Education Center
*Route 15-501 South-Southern Village Park and Ride Lot between Culbreth and Dogwood Acres Rds.
*Route 15-501 East-University Mall at Estes Drive

Driving direction to Dean E Smith Center:
From the north:
Take I-85 to Durham NC. Exit left at US 15-501 in Durham and follow 15-501 approx. 9 miles to Chapel Hill. Once in Chapel Hill,maintain US 15-501 Bypass (Fordham Blvd.) At the 7th stoplight,turn right onto Manning Drive-the Center is 1/2 mile ahead on the left on Bowles Drive.
From the south:
Tale is 15-50 north toward Chapel hill. Exit right onto US 15-501 Bypass in Chapel Hill and follow to the 1st stoplight. Turn left onto Manning Drive-the Center is 1/2 mile ahead on the left on Bowles Drive.
From the east:
Take I-40 west toward Chapel Hill. Exit at NV 54 West (Exit #273B) and follow for approx. 4 miles. Once in Chapel Hill,follow signs for NC 54 West (exit right under first overpass). Follow NC 54 until the 2nd stoplight. Turn right onto Manning Drive-the Center is 1/2 mile ahead on the left on Skipper Bowles Drive.
From the west:
Take I-85 North towards Durham. Exit just past Burlington onto NC 54 East (Exit #148,Chapel Hill Exit). Follow NC 54 for approx. 25 miles to Carrboro. Go through 2 stoplights and stay on NC 54 for 4 miles to the next stoplight (Manning Drive). The Center is 1/2 mile ahead on the left on Bowles Drive.
