Spice Street Description:
This exotic-looking venue, originally designed for a restaurant concept featuring street food from all over the world, has evolved into a Mediterranean rim eatery. Pita slices served with spicy harissa sauce set the culinary tone as soon as you are seated. Pork pot stickers and spring rolls are vestiges of the Asian menu, but the best food is from owner George Bakatsias' corner of the globe, the northern Mediterranean coast. Bouillabaisse, lamb chops with fig marmalade and potato-eggplant stew, chicken kebab marinated in yogurt and curry spices, or paella are reliable choices. The original sushi bar remains, and other bars offer both tea and standard cocktails and wines. The wine list is surprisingly California-oriented with some Chilean, French and Italian bottles.
