All Star Sandwich Bar Description:
The menu includes some famous sandwiches from regions around the world, such as Beef on Weck, Muffaletta, and Cuban, while also offering more traditional combinations.
Few chefs seem to have as much all-around fun with their food as Chris Schlesinger of East Coast Grill. Just down the block from that Inman Square institution is his funky, bright blue and orange sandwich shop that packs 'em in thanks to a menu that's as playful in tone as it is serious in content: we're talking beef on weck, Reubens, Cubans, hot dogs, tuna melts and specials like bluefish po' boys. We're also talking all manner of homemade condiments and sides---chips, chutneys, slaws, pickles and then some---not to mention fresh lemonade and a small selection of beer and wine. Specials have included hush puppies drizzled with Tabasco rémoulade (hellishly hot, yet heavenly) and a pastrami sandwich. Note: There's also a catering menu.
