Angelo Mio Description:
One of the most attractive restaurants in Menlo Park, Angelo Mio looks like a postcard from Milan with its vaulted ceilings, white linen-topped tables, rich wood paneling and eye-candy artwork decking the walls. The food is every bit as pleasing as the setting. The starter menu is filled with such artfully prepared treats as soft polenta with sautéed vegetables, fresh New Zealand mussels and manila clams, and grilled mushrooms topped with fresh goat cheese. The penne con pollo, which mixes slices of grilled chicken with still-crisp bell peppers, black olives and roasted garlic in a zesty tomato sauce, is terrific, but the simple vegetable fettuccine is nearly as good. The restaurant is rightly well known for its veal dishes, however, the seafood options deliver the best taste treasures. Try the plump jumbo prawns, tenderly sautéed in a white wine sauce, or the great calamari steak piccata and you won't be disappointed. Finish your meal with the lush tiramisu and a cup of properly prepared espresso.
