The Stand is a South Laguna Beach institution for vegetarian and vegan dishes. This tiny red building on laid-back Thalia Street has window-only service and just a few benches on its outdoor wooden patio. Despite being out in the elements, locals come here for super-healthy non-dairy smoothies, soft-serve ice cream, tamales, burritos, bowls, salads, sandwiches and pita pockets. Beans, rice, vegetables and avocados are the main ingredients of most dishes, along with salsa and sauces like lemon herb and ginger tamari.
