Diners can nosh on the outdoor patio beneath Persian blue umbrellas, or inside, where massive mosaic vases abound with fresh flowers and herbs. Pasta, seafood, and panini classics comprise the extensive menu--with no entrees priced above $20. Diners can also build their own calzone or pizza with house-made dough and Mediterranean toppings like prosciutto, sun-dried tomatoes, capers and goat cheese.
On all orders above $13, free delivery is available as far north as Pico.
The automat meets the vinotheque at this high-tech wine bar (formerly Vinum Populi) in Culver City. Load a debit card and take your pick of any of four dozen wines inside the automated wine-dispensing machines. One ounce pours range from under a dollar to more than $25, with bottles valued from $15 to $500. With four Enomatic machines, there's no waiting, just plenty of choices, with selections from California, Italy, France, Spain and South Africa---and tasting notes on each bottle. Whether you like beefy reds from Napa or delicate whites from Alsace, Ugo Wine Bar has something to please your palate. There's also food from Ugo café next door.
