The Black Cat Bistro Description:
American bistro food with European, South American and Asian accents. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. The restaurant is small and intimate with a fireplace and hardwood floors. In the back is a wine bar with a view of the kitchen.
Once a film producer in Los Angeles, owner-chef Deborah Scarborough created a hit with this bistro and wine bar housed in an old farmhouse. Located along the main thoroughfare, this cozy eatery is favored by local foodies for its market fresh, global cuisine and well-chosen wine list featuring an array of local gems. Tried-and-true dishes, such as fried olives stuffed with Gorgonzola, rich salmon chowder with crispy pancetta, and seared ahi with butter-braised jasmine rice and ginger wasabi sauce have permanent residence on the menu. But the top kitty loves adding new treats, like duck confit quesadilla with goat cheese and port-infused dried cherries, or three-cheese baked eggplant and red chard polenta. When available, local sea bass in red wine demi-glace with creamy grits and greens is irresistible. Everything, from stocks to Stilton cheesecake, is made in-house. The smaller rooms are perfect for intimate dining or exclusive parties. But it's more fun dining near or at the bar among the in-crowd of local chefs and winemakers.
