Cafe Carrera Description:
On a street known mostly for its Beverly Hills doctors' offices, this little café is easily overlooked, and that would be a mistake. The Carrera family originated in Grammichele, Sicily, and has been in the restaurant business since 1908. Begin with a portion of antipasti, preferably one of the three C's: caponata, caprese or carpaccio. There are salads and panini, but you're better served by ordering one of the specials. Don't pass up the Sicilian-style meatloaf, taglioni with broccoli and sardines, or pan-fried oysters with lemon mustard sauce. Popular desserts are tiramisu and the cannoli, made with ricotta cheese.
