Smith & Wollensky Description:
Though Bostonians are a fiercely loyal lot, this national heavyweight has managed to hold its own in the city's densely packed chophouse scene. Located in "The Castle"---a former armory on the National Historical Registry---it offers a truly singular (if not always particularly warm) setting; the view of the elegant private estate-like dining room from the mezzanine bar is especially commanding. So is the 650-bottle, all-American wine list and mostly traditional menu, laden with all the classic steakhouse cuts and mammoth-size sides. All the butchering and dry-aging is done on the premises. Of course, the price tags are equally mammoth.
