The Good Life Description:
Formerly an homage to the cocktail lounge of the Rat Pack era, this Downtown Crossing joint has gone ultramodern. Where once the draw was a seedy retro vibe, now it's the trappings of sleekness, including a frozen vodka bar; where basic bar snacks once reigned supreme, now the likes of crab-bacon tacos with poblano-onion aïoli hold court with pizzas with cracker-thin crusts that somehow stand up to hearty toppings such as house-made sausage and cherry-pepper pesto. We also recommend the burger---be it spread with dilled feta or blue-cheese compote---and a standout, shudderingly creamy mac 'n' cheese recipe that really does provide a taste of the good life.
