Monroe's Restaurant Description:
It all started with green chile cheeseburgers. In 1962, Monroe's began serving them at a humble location on Lomas between downtown and Old Town---and they soon caught on. Today, they're as good as ever---but the chicken enchiladas made with blue-corn tortillas and topped with green chile may be even better. Monroe's is also known for its salsa, which is spicy, thick, chip-sticking and well worth the small surcharge. Meanwhile, the friendly, capable servers always make you feel right at home, from the moment they open for breakfast---featuring hash-brown-and-egg-stuffed burritos---to the last margarita call.
