Katy's Dumpling House Description:
Part of the menu (not to mention everything in the carry-out cooler) is only written in Chinese. The not-especially-friendly staff doesn't go out of its way to put customers at ease either. But those in the know couldn't care less because it's otherworldly hand-made noodles---not a chat---that they're after. While you can get Asian standards like kung pao shrimp and chicken in garlic sauce, don't bother. It's the items under the "homemade noodle" header---and the pork dumplings---you came for. We find particular success with the Szechuan cold noodle, a carb-packed pile of plenty with fiery ground meat and refreshingly cool cucumber shards. But be forewarned: you might be told "that's too spicy for you" or "no, you won't like that." Stand your ground and reap the rewards. Also located at 790 Royal George Dr., Naperville.
