20 1/2-11 1/2, at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Dec 7-14, 1998.

Past Champions: 1994-United States; 1996-United States;

Eligibility criteria: United States Team--the top 10 players who
have earned the most official PGA tour money from the first tour-
nament of 1999 through the 2000 PGA championship, which concludes Aug 20. All money earned in 2000 will be doubled. Cap-tain Venturi has two "Captains Choices".
International team--the top 10 players (excluding those eligible for the European Ryder Cup team) from the official World Golf ranking through tournaments scheduled to conclude on Aug 20. Peter Thomson has two "Captains Choices".

Opening ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, Oct 18th at 4pm.
Introduction of teams, captains and participating dignitaries. Located on lawns at rear of clubhouse.

Closing ceremonies will follow conclusion of play on Sunday, Oct. 22nd. Trophy presentation located on the lawns at rear of clubhouse.

***Cameras and video cameras are allowed on scheduled practice days only. Tuesday and Wednesday, but not allowed Thursday trough Sunday.***

The following items are prohibited on the golf course at all times:

mobile telephones
coolers, bicycles
roller blades
step stool or ladders
dog or other pets (other than seeing eye guide dogs)
pagers
golf shoes with metal spikes
