Yen's Cafe Description:
An unexpected destination that began as a tea and beverage bar, Yen's has been transformed into a Taiwanese eatery with a surprisingly large and diverse menu. Still available: a complete menu of exotic floral teas (think mango-passion fruit or lavender flavors) and equally exotic fruit drinks. But the Chinese food enthusiast will thrill over the chef's culinary skills. Before ordering, check the specials board, where if you are lucky, the kitchen offers its lotus and shrimp entrée. But you won't suffer buyer's remorse if you only order the shredded beef with dried tofu, sesame chicken, eggplant in Yu-Xiang sauce, and a few Taiwanese dumplings. Be sure to select one of the flavorful teas, served in a glass pitcher kept hot (and refilled) over a tabletop candle. The kitchen offers several Western desserts, including a mighty good flan.
