La Choza Description:
Ecuadorian food is a rarity in these parts, so we celebrate the longevity of this no-frills restaurant with its long drinks bar and overhead TVs. La Choza pours its energies into an unusual menu---some Mexican-style fare is also listed---with such dishes as churrasco a lo pobre; black bean soup; ceviche; pupusas; and our favorite, las cholas, pieces of meat wrapped in dough and fried, then served with salsa. These are a real find and large enough to serve as an entrée. The tasty morsels, surrounded with rice---and, oh yes, order a side of fried yucca---make an unusual main course. One may also opt for an Ecuadorian stew made from lamb rice and boiled potatoes.
