River City Diner Description:
The sister, though not a twin, of the downtown diner by the same name comes in the traditional gleaming metal exterior with counter and booth seating inside. It's a come-one, come-all kind of place that serves the kind of all-American fare we count on finding in diners: mom's meatloaf, country fried steak, corned beef hash for breakfast, pot roast, and burgers with fries. And the kitchen adds on a few more updated dishes, like the RCD Chinese Tootsie roll, which is a deep-fried egg roll of sorts, and something with the comic name of Rochester Garbage Plate---that's two hot dogs, chili, cheese, baked beans, and home fries, plus more. Try the house lemon pie or cheesecake, and some soda fountain favorites. There's a third incarnation at Northside.
