Panjshir II Description:
This and its sister restaurant in Falls Church are old-timers in the area, and thus, have a loyal following of business folk and suburbanites for lunch and dinner. But at this location, its heavy and ornate decor, bland foods, and somewhat stand-offish service would mar an otherwise pleasant lunchtime. Worthy dishes include the Afghan noodle soup, aush, and the seib chalow, a dish with apples baked in tomato sauce and Afghan prunes. You may find some interesting kebabs---the shami kebab is very plain---and some hearty vegetarian fare, but the slow service may make this too much of a leisurely mealtime. In a hurry? Go elsewhere.
