Legal Seafood Description:
Boston’s much-loved Legal Sea Foods, part of a leviathan whose holdings include numerous restaurants, retail markets, a mail-order business and a frozen seafood division, has not made an easy transition to the nation’s capital and metro area. This hectic and often-crowded location, though, is obviously popular with upscale shoppers in the area. Its upstairs bar has formal dark woods, and downstairs is more casual. We’ve been disappointed with their signature clam chowder and steamed lobster, although we’ve enjoyed the fresh oysters and fried clams. The best bet here is to sit at the bar and order the great lobster roll or the simply prepared grilled fish. The wine list has an intelligent selection and fair prices, with a leaning toward California whites. Other locations.
