Crafted in the tradition of American saloons, this Fairfax restaurant has been promising---and delivering---good times for several decades. It looks as square and solid as a brick barn, and its smoky bar and Tiffany lamps only add a sense of fun. The menu tells the real tale here: big, fat burgers; large entrée salads; and the steak and chicken dishes that have helped make this place popular. We absolutely adore the Mexi burger with its load of beans, jalapeños, and melted cheese but the grilled salmon salad suits less hungry moods. Skidoo's appetizers make ideal bar food: Sip your brew, nibble on the Tex-Mex nachos and watch a game on one of the bar television sets. Don't miss the Sunday brunch.
