The Old Tavern Description:
The Old Tavern opened its doors in 1801 and is one of the oldest operating inns in the United States. The dining room is set in the atmospheric surroundings of the restored stagecoach stop, with candlelight, embroidered tapestries and artwork. Much of the wine list is comprised of boutique wines that are very limited in Vermont. The menu changes seasonally and features organic heirloom vegetables and herbs that come from the garden behind the restaurant.
