Review :
Last night we went to Hapa Izakaya with another couple who frequent this restaurant often. Since they are so familiar with the place, we let them do all the ordering, other than drinks.
I had a Pear Sake (cold) to start, which was fantastic. My wife and the other 2 had beer on tap.
The concept of this restaurant is Japanese tapas, so there is no formality to the food and sequence to which your orders arrive... they just come out as ready. Our tapas included such things as Sashimi salad, mackerel sashimi, mushroom rice bowl, agadashi tofu, and a whole host of other items, that quite frankly I enjoyed, but since I didn't look at the menu, I do not remember their names. One item that does stand out is the black cod in miso... just incredible.
As it was late, we opted to forgo dessert... total with tip and tax for all 4 was $165, a very good value for the amount and variety of food we had.
All in all, good company, good food, good restaurant and a good time!
