Service was slow, waiter was rude and defensive about the poor service and the small portions which left us still hungry after spending $160.

I have come to this restaurant on many occasions and the service and the food had always been good in the past. It was rated one of the top restaurants in Vancouver for many years in a row... We'll, I guess that is all in the past.
After our most recent visit, we will never go back. First, we tried to make reservations. The hostess said it was very very busy and we will have to take an 8:30 seating. Upon our arrival, I notice that the restaurant had many open tables. I was told that the night was booked solid and that the restuarant was incredibly busy so we would have to sit by the door, even though about 12 tables were open. Guess I was the least important of those about to arrive!!!
The kitchen could not have been slower. Our entrees almost 2 hours after we sat down. We had waited for a 45 minutes between courses. At this point, we were ready to leave, and the problem was not helped by a waiter who did not seem to care. The food was okay, but the evenng was completely soured, especially since the restaurant never got more people walking in after us, so the table by the door was ridiculous. To top it off, there was no explanation/apology by the manager.
If this is what is to be expected with the new staff and management, I do not recommend going to this restaurant. I know that I will never go back here...
